The ECE Sussex studio is seeking a talented and motivated Architect to join our Education, Commercial and Mixed-Use team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a varied range of projects across multiple sectors and develop your architectural career within a supportive and progressive practice.
As an Architect at ECE Architecture, you will play an important role in the design, coordination and delivery of projects across the education, commercial and mixed-use sectors. Based in our Sussex Studio, you will work as part of an experienced team, contributing to projects at a range of stages from early design through to technical delivery and construction.
This role would suit a motivated Architect with strong Revit skills, sound technical knowledge and a proactive approach to project delivery. You will be expected to take responsibility for your own work, support senior team members and collaborate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors and internal project teams.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the development of design concepts, presentations and planning material.
- Preparing and coordinating high-quality drawings, models and technical information.
- Working confidently within Revit to develop, coordinate and manage project information.
- Supporting the delivery of projects through planning, technical design and construction stages.
- Liaising with clients, consultants, contractors and statutory authorities as required.
- Attending site visits, project meetings and construction inspections.
- Coordinating information and resolving design or technical queries as projects progress.
- Keeping up to date with industry regulations, best practice, sustainability principles and technical standards.
- Contributing positively to the wider studio team and supporting junior colleagues where appropriate.

To be considered for this position, you should meet the following criteria:
- ARB registered Architect with a minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience in UK practice
- Strong working knowledge of Revit within practice is essential
- Experience working on architectural projects across a range of RIBA stages
- Good technical knowledge, with an understanding of UK Building Regulations, planning requirements and construction detailing
- Proficiency in industry-standard software, including AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong design skills, with the ability to think creatively, critically and commercially
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the confidence to liaise with clients, consultants and wider project teams
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and prioritise workload effectively
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving
- A keen interest in sustainable design and the creation of environmentally responsible buildings
- A portfolio demonstrating both design ability and technical competence

ECE Sussex is a modern, highly sociable studio, just a stone’s throw from the seafront in West Sussex.
The studio is conveniently located within a short walk of Worthing and East Worthing train stations, and there is free parking within a 15-minute walk.
