Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Prepper/Painter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces and applying paint to various structures, ensuring high-quality finishes and adherence to safety standards. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in painting and surface preparation within a supportive environment. The ideal applicant will possess mechanical knowledge, experience with hand and power tools, and the physical strength to handle heavy lifting tasks.

Duties

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion
Mix paints and other materials according to specifications
Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently during preparation and painting processes
Assist with surface repairs and minor carpentry tasks as needed
Ensure work areas are kept clean and organised throughout the project
Follow health and safety regulations at all times, including proper handling of materials and equipment
Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards

Qualifications

Previous experience in prep work or painting is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for understanding equipment and tools used in the role
Proficiency with hand tools and power tools required for surface preparation and painting tasks
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely on a regular basis
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Physically fit with the ability to work in various weather conditions if working outdoors
Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn new skills
