Dealership Accountant (Jaguar Land Rover)
£50k - £60k per annum
6 month fixed-term contract (commencing ASAP)
Full or Part Time
Postwick, Norwich (NR13 5HB)
33 days holiday (pro-rata)

About the Company

Duckworth Motor Group is a family-owned automotive business serving the Lincolnshire community for over 60 years. Having just acquired the Jaguar Land Rover franchise for Norwich we now have a dedicated team of over 240 professionals, who are committed to delivering exceptional customer service and offering a wide range of vehicles and automotive services.

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly capable and commercially minded Dealership Accountant to join our successful Jaguar Land Rover dealership on a 6-month fixed-term maternity cover contract commencing in September 2026.

Reporting directly to the Finance Director and Group Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining the financial integrity of the business, providing accurate reporting, and supporting operational decision-making during a busy and important period for the dealership.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
Production and submission of manufacturer financial composite reports.
Ensuring compliance with JLR and group financial reporting requirements.
Analysis of composite results, identifying trends, opportunities and areas of concern.
Balance sheet reconciliations and maintenance of financial controls.
Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
Analysis of departmental profitability and key performance indicators.
Management of sales, purchase and nominal ledgers.
Supporting operational managers with financial reporting and performance analysis.
Management of part-time purchase ledger clerk.

About You

We are looking for an individual who:

Is qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
Has strong accounting, reporting and financial control experience.
Previous motor-trade or dealership account experience is desired but not essential.
Familiarity with dealer management systems and manufacturer reporting (desired but not essential)
Is able to work independently and be self-sufficient, managing competing priorities effectively.
Demonstrates a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Is a confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across the business.
