Three full time posts have been created for the new role of Peripatetic Learning Disability Specialists. We have two current vacancies on the Team.
Our Team will be delivering sessions at any/all of our sites. These sessions will train adults with intellectual (learning) disability to develop independent living and employment skills, and to manage their health & wellbeing. Our sessions are ASDAN-accredited, are designed to meet both local authority and NHS contracts, and the outcomes of our grant-aided programmes.
We are looking for applicants with a background in either Learning Disability Day Services, Careers (SEND) or be a qualified upper secondary or FE Teacher with a strong SEND background.
We are not looking for applicants from personal care services, domiciliary care, residential or nursing care.
All three post holders must be able to cover each of our sites when required. You will need a car, or, if eligible, an Access to Work travel package, since within work travel is essential for this role. Mileage is paid for travel to any work destination not 'on your ordinary commute' to work.
All Learning Disability Specialist Staff, and Managers of services, at Journey must be qualified in, or will work towards, an NVQ in Health & Social Care as a requirement of the Health & Social Care Act and our local authority and NHS contracts. Journey offers a comprehensive training programme and opportunities for career progression as team leaders, specialists and managers.
