About Us

We are a friendly and growing accountancy practice based in Witney, Oxfordshire, supporting a wide variety of clients — from individuals needing personal tax returns to limited companies who outsource their finance function. We pride ourselves on providing a high‑quality, personal service and building long‑term relationships with our clients.

As our client base continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced and confident Accounts & Tax Accountant to join our team on a part‑time basis.

There will be opportunities for the right candidate to develop their role as the firm continues to grow. This includes opportunities for directorship.

The Role

You will be responsible for preparing year‑end accounts and tax returns for a range of clients, including:

Sole traders
Partnerships
Limited companies
Individuals requiring personal tax returns

This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys working across a varied portfolio and can manage their workload independently.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare year‑end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies with knowledge of FRS105 and FRS102(a)
Prepare corporation tax returns (CT600)
Prepare personal tax returns (Self Assessment)
Prepare partnership tax returns
Review bookkeeping and VAT returns where required
Liaise with clients to request information and resolve queries
Ensure work is completed accurately and to deadlines
Use cloud accounting systems (primarily Xero and QuickBooks Online)
Maintain high professional and ethical standards

About You

We’re looking for someone who is confident, capable, and comfortable working independently in a small practice environment.

Essential Skills & Experience

Strong experience preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
Experience preparing personal and business tax returns
Good working knowledge of Xero and QuickBooks Online
Ability to communicate clearly with clients
Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills

Desirable skills and experience:

Review of work completed by juniors
Experience using Digita for compliance work

Qualifications

ACCA or ACA qualified / part‑qualified

Working Arrangements

Part‑time: up to 24 hours per week split over 3 to 4 days (flexible on which days)
Office‑based in Witney, with some scope for flexibility.
