BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – COMMERCIAL LED LIGHTING
Well-maintained South West London & Surrey territory worth over £1M with strong existing relationships.
Selling high-quality commercial LED lighting through wholesalers, contractors, architects and M&E consultants.
£60,000 base salary + £30,000 performance-linked bonus potential
OTE 90,000 + Premium Benefits

Autonomous, field-based Business Development Manager role reporting to a Regional Sales Manager with clear long-term growth potential.

SL, UB, SW, SM, KT, RH, CR
(South West London, Surrey and surrounding areas)
Travel expectations of 3–4 days on the road, with only rare overnight stays (3–4 times per year).
The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a driven Business Development Manager to take on a well-maintained, high-value territory worth over £1M across South West London and Surrey, with a leading UK commercial lighting business.
You will inherit strong relationships, existing turnover, and significant opportunity to grow further through specification and project-led sales.
What you will do
Develop and deliver a strategic territory sales plan to hit and exceed annual sales targets across your £1M+ area.
Build strong relationships with electrical wholesalers, contractors, architects, consultants, end users and specifiers to grow market share and maximise project opportunities.
Use your technical product knowledge to provide value-engineered lighting solutions that win projects and generate repeat business.
Apply commercial acumen to optimise pricing within agreed guidelines and secure profitable orders.
Analyse wins and losses, track your pipeline and provide clear monthly reports on activities, results and trends.
Work closely with internal teams (quoting, projects, customer service, product engineering) to ensure a seamless customer experience.
What we’re looking for
Proven success in sales and business development within the electrical or lighting sector, ideally through wholesale and project sales.
Strong track record of delivering business growth, building a robust pipeline and exceeding KPIs.
Ability to understand technical customer requirements and translate them into the right product and system solutions.
Excellent negotiation, influencing and communication skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders including contractors, architects and consultants.
Results-driven, commercially minded and comfortable working autonomously across your territory.
Package and Benefits
£60,000 base salary per annum
£30,000 annual bonus opportunity linked to performance

28 days’ holiday, plus bank holidays if applicable
Reporting and Location
You will report to a Regional Sales Manager, working remotely in the field with regular customer visits and team interaction as required.
The role covers a well-maintained South West London & Surrey territory worth over £1M, with strong existing relationships and clear growth potential through wholesalers, contractors, architects and consultants.
