About us: “ Commitment to the deployment of cutting edge event technology solutions, anywhere in the work. Guaranteed.”….
One World Rental provides short-term IT and event technology solutions for conferences, exhibitions, festivals, corporate events and product launches across the world. We supply everything from laptops, tablets and EPOS systems to networking, event staffing and technical support.
Our UK Sales team works closely with clients across a wide range of industries, helping them find the right technology for their events while working alongside colleagues in Operations, Marketing and our international offices.
No two days are exactly the same. Some days you'll be researching new companies and speaking with potential customers, while others you'll be following up enquiries, qualifying opportunities and supporting the wider sales team. During busy event periods, priorities can change quickly, so being organised and adaptable is important.
Our Values
Commitment – “We make it happen.” Anytime. Anywhere. We don’t make excuses – we find solutions. When things get complex, we lean in, not out.
Collaboration – “Better together.” One size never fits all. We listen first then build solutions together – with our clients and each other.
Responsibility – “We own the outcome.” Own it. Protect it. Improve it. We take responsibility for outcomes, relationships and our impact on the world around us.
Value – “More than rental.” We go beyond the kit. Our value isn’t what we just supply – it’s in how we think, advise and deliver.
The Role
This role is all about creating new sales opportunities.
You'll spend much of your day identifying businesses that could benefit from our services, reaching out by phone, email and LinkedIn, and starting conversations with potential clients. Your goal isn't necessarily to close every deal yourself — it's to understand what the customer needs, qualify the opportunity and introduce them to the right Account Manager or Business Development Manager.
You'll be speaking to new people every day, so confidence, resilience and good communication are essential. Some conversations will lead to opportunities straight away, while others may take time to develop.
This role would suit someone who enjoys talking to people, isn't put off by hearing "no", and wants to build a career in sales. If you're curious, organised and motivated to learn, we'll provide the support and coaching to help you develop.
What you’ll be doing…..
- Research companies, industries and events to identify potential new customers.
- Contact prospective clients through phone calls, emails and LinkedIn.
- Introduce One World Rental and explain our products and services.
- Qualify leads by understanding customer requirements, timescales and event needs.
- Arrange meetings and hand opportunities over to the Account Management or Business Development team.
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of prospects using our CRM system.
- Follow up previous enquiries and nurture prospects that aren't ready to buy yet.
- Keep accurate notes and records of all customer interactions.
- Work closely with Marketing to follow up campaign leads and enquiries.
- Attend sales meetings, training sessions and team reviews.
- Learn about our products, services and the industries we support.
- Represent the business professionally in every customer interaction.
What matters in this role …..
- You're comfortable speaking with new people every day.
- You stay positive even when conversations don't go your way.
- You're organised and keep on top of follow-ups and administration.
- You enjoy learning and take feedback on board.
- You work well with others and share information with the wider team.
- You take ownership of your work and follow things through.
Experience we are looking for …..
- Some experience in a customer service, sales, retail, hospitality or telephone-based role.
- Experience making outbound calls or speaking with customers is helpful but not essential.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and CRM systems, or willing to learn.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to manage your own workload and keep accurate records.
- An interest in technology, events or business development would be an advantage.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths. Further qualifications are welcome but not essential.
You’ll probably do well here if you …..
- Enjoy starting conversations and building relationships.
- Like working towards goals and seeing your progress.
- Don't mind picking up the phone and introducing yourself to new people.
- Stay organised when managing lots of leads and follow-ups.
- Are happy asking questions and learning from experienced colleagues.
- Prefer practical, hands-on work rather than sitting behind emails all day.
- Want to develop into an Account Manager or Business Development role over time.
Additional Information …..
- Full product and systems training will be provided.
- This role is office-based at our London headquarters.
- There may be opportunities to attend industry exhibitions and events.
- Career progression is available within our wider Sales team for colleagues who consistently perform well and demonstrate a willingness to learn.
