Job Description:
Position: Nursery Chef
Location: Theodore's House,
2 Castle Hill Terrace, SL6 4JP
Hours: 25 hours (Monday-Friday)

Are you passionate about feeding little minds and tummies? We’re on the lookout for a Food Champion to join our nursery team — someone who sees the kitchen as a place where care, creativity, and community come together.

The Role:
As a Nursery Chef, you'll

Serve delicious balanced meals that children and parents trust and in accordance with the nursery's nutritional guidance for the under-fives
Maintain a safe, clean and hygienic kitchen, always meeting food hygiene and health & safety standards
Comply with all company policies around preparing and serving the food including managing various dietary requirements

As a Nursery Chef, you’ll:

Keep playrooms, bathrooms, and shared areas clean and hygienic, ready for busy little explorers
Handle laundry and linen changes to ensure everything is fresh, tidy, and cosy
Support the team with daily cleaning routines, helping maintain our high standards of care
Help us create a warm, home-from-home environment where children feel safe and nurtured
Be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and organisation in all areas

We’re looking for someone who:

Has a great eye for detail and a genuine pride in their work
Can work independently but is also happy to be part of a team
Understands (or is willing to learn) basic health & safety and hygiene procedures
Brings a positive attitude and a caring approach to everything they do
Holds a Food Hygiene qualification (or is willing to work towards one)
Has a genuine love for working in an environment with children
Can plan ahead, stay organised, and work independently
Effectively communicates with colleagues and management regarding daily cleaning schedules, supply needs and any maintenance issues
