Account Manager – Development

IT Sales & Commercial | Full‑Time

We’re looking for an ambitious and relationship‑driven Account Manager – Development to join our IT Sales & Commercial team. If you thrive on building client relationships, spotting opportunities for growth, and helping organisations get more value from technology, this role offers an exciting pathway to develop your sales career.

This is a key role focused on nurturing a portfolio of smaller and emerging accounts with strong potential for future expansion. You’ll be the driving force behind turning these accounts into long‑term, high‑value partnerships.

About the Role

In this growth‑focused position, you will proactively manage and develop a portfolio of newer or lower‑value clients, taking responsibility for building trust, identifying upsell opportunities, and guiding each client on their journey toward becoming part of our Core portfolio.

You’ll work closely with internal teams, partners, and vendors to ensure clients receive excellent service and relevant product recommendations that support their technology needs.

What You’ll Be Doing

Building strong, proactive relationships with clients to understand their needs and identify growth opportunities
Hosting regular account management meetings and involving internal specialists to enhance client value
Recommending technology products and services that enable clients to operate more effectively
Using internal tools and systems to build quotations, manage opportunities, and convert them into successful sales
Welcoming new clients and ensuring they understand how our service can support their business
Preparing accurate forecasts to support local and business‑wide planning
Sharing regional knowledge and insights to contribute to the success of the wider sales team
Keeping the team updated on market trends, account progress, and performance
Engaging with partners and vendors to stay informed of industry updates and relevant accreditations
Focusing on relationship building, upselling, and developing accounts toward Core portfolio status

About You

We’re looking for someone who is eager to learn, motivated to succeed, and confident in their ability to build relationships and deliver value.

You will bring:

A strong commercial mindset
Enthusiasm to learn and grow within a sales environment
A drive to meet and exceed sales targets
Confidence communicating with a wide range of clients
Excellent telephone manner and customer service skills
Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
The capability to adapt quickly and reprioritise when needed
Effective troubleshooting abilities and creative problem‑solving
Clear, confident verbal and written communication skills
The ability to explain solutions to both technical and non‑technical audiences
A friendly, approachable nature, supporting colleagues when needed
