35 hours per week. 09:00 to 16:00

Mon to Fri and with occasional weekend if needed .

We’re looking for a reliable, skilled, and warm‑hearted Handyperson to join our dedicated team in a specialist dementia care home. This role is perfect for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys variety, and understands the importance of creating a safe, comfortable environment for our residents.

As our Handyperson, you’ll be the go‑to person for keeping our home running smoothly. Your work will directly support the wellbeing of residents living with dementia, ensuring their surroundings are safe, welcoming, and well‑maintained.

You’ll be responsible for:

Carrying out day‑to‑day repairs, maintenance, and basic DIY tasks
Conducting regular safety checks (e.g., fire alarms, lighting, equipment)
Supporting with minor decorating, painting, and general upkeep
Liaising with external contractors when specialist work is required
Ensuring outdoor areas are tidy, safe, and pleasant
Responding promptly to maintenance requests from staff and residents
Maintaining accurate records of work completed and safety checks

What We’re Looking For:

Practical skills across basic plumbing, joinery, painting, and general repairs
A calm, patient, and respectful approach, especially important in a dementia care setting
Good communication skills and the ability to work well with residents, families, and colleagues
Someone organised, proactive, and able to prioritise tasks

We have a low Staff turnover and have staffs that have been committed to our service for over 30years. We have easy access from Walton station and Hersham Station. There is also a bus from Kingston, which drops you just outside the home
