Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Family Law Consultant to provide expert guidance and support to clients navigating family law matters. This role involves analysing legal situations, offering strategic advice, and assisting clients in understanding their options within the framework of family law. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, organisational abilities, and a solid understanding of IT systems relevant to legal practice. - Hours: 16 hours per week (4 hours per day, 4 days a week)
- Schedule: Flexible days (To be agreed with the successful candidate)
- Location: Remote / Work-from-Home (Following a tailored initial training period)
- Travel: Regular travel to regional family courts required (Full UK Driving Licence and access to a car essential)

This role bridges the gap between practical experience and formal qualification. Your initial training period will be uniquely tailored to your existing skills and current caseload. Once trained, you will transition to a remote working setup. As your confidence grows, you will take on full client management across all areas of family law, backed by a company-funded paralegal qualification.
Responsibilities
- Provide clear and empathetic advice to clients regarding family law issues such as divorce, child custody, and financial settlements.
- Analyse case details and prepare comprehensive reports to inform legal strategies.
- Assist clients in understanding their legal rights and options, ensuring they are well-informed throughout the process.
- Maintain accurate and organised case files using IT systems specialised for legal documentation.
- Liaise with other legal professionals, courts, and external agencies as required.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in family law legislation and best practices through continuous professional development.
- Support clients in completing necessary documentation accurately and efficiently.
Experience
- Proven experience in family law or related legal fields is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.
- Proficiency in IT applications relevant to legal practice, including case management software and document drafting tools.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Previous experience working directly with clients is advantageous but not essential for entry-level candidates willing to learn. This role is suitable for individuals committed to providing compassionate legal support within a professional setting, eager to develop their expertise in family law while delivering exceptional service to clients.
Pay: £12.71-£15.00 per hour
