Senior Sous Chef - Ready for a Kitchen You’ll Actually Want a Career In?
At Balloo Inns, we do hospitality differently.
We believe exceptional food starts with an exceptional team — and that means investing properly in our people, supporting them, and creating kitchens built on respect, structure, and pride.
While many businesses in hospitality struggled, we’re proud to have retained every member of our 130+ strong team. That doesn’t happen by accident — it happens because people come first here.
Our flagship gastro pub, The Parson's Nose, is known for award-winning food, a vibrant atmosphere, and genuine hospitality. With our heated terrace and beer garden, we’re busier than ever — and now looking for a talented Senior Sous Chef to help drive standards even further.
If you’re passionate about food, thrive in a fast-paced fresh-food kitchen, and want to be part of a business that genuinely values your skill and wellbeing, this is a role worth your attention.
What You Will Be Part of
You’ll be joining a professional, motivated, and supportive kitchen team where:
- Standards are high and consistency matters
- Service is structured, not chaotic
- Prep is protected and planned properly
- Your input and ideas are genuinely valued
This is a leadership role in a kitchen that takes pride in doing things properly.

We’re looking for a Senior Sous Chef who:
- Has at least 1 year’s experience in a similar senior kitchen role
- Is confident across all areas of fresh-food preparation in a busy kitchen
- Maintains exceptional standards of cleanliness and organisation
- Brings energy, precision, and attention to detail to every service

- Shows pride in their work and a desire to continually improve
- Is reliable, honest, and trustworthy
- Enjoys working as part of a strong, structured team
- Has their own transport
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is passionate about great food, enjoys being part of a strong team, and wants to grow within a respected hospitality business.
