Full job description

Job Title: Security Audit & Penetration Testing Specialist (Mac, iOS, and Network Environment)

Project Overview

We are seeking an experienced cybersecurity professional or ethical hacker to perform a comprehensive security assessment, vulnerability scan, and penetration test on a personal technology environment. The goal is to investigate potential indicators of compromise, audit network configurations (including VPN and Wi-Fi behaviors), review device endpoint security across macOS and iOS, and provide a clear remediation report.

Scope of Work

The contractor will be expected to review and assess the following areas:

Endpoint Security Audit:
Inspect macOS and iOS devices for unauthorized configuration profiles, rogue VPN hooks, or unrecognized background daemons/processes.
Evaluate app permissions, developer certificates, and local network sharing settings.
Network & Connectivity Analysis:
Analyze local Wi-Fi routing, DNS configurations, and VPN behavior (specifically automated routing protocols and split-tunneling anomalies).
Review router/gateway logs (if accessible) for unauthorized device associations or port forwarding rules.
Account & Credential Security:
Audit primary cloud accounts (Apple ID, email, etc.) for unauthorized active sessions, unrecognized trusted devices, or compromised credentials.
Review two-factor authentication (2FA) integrity and recovery mechanisms.
Findings & Remediation Report:
Provide a clear, jargon-free summary of identified vulnerabilities or confirm if device behaviors are standard software operations.
Deliver actionable steps to harden the environment against future risks.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Proven experience in penetration testing, digital forensics, or vulnerability assessment (OSCP, CEH, or equivalent certifications preferred).
Deep technical expertise in macOS and iOS security architecture, network protocols, and VPN configurations.
Familiarity with common network troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, terminal-based network diagnostics).
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical findings clearly.

Deliverables

A written security assessment report detailing findings, risk levels, and specific remediation steps.
A brief walkthrough consultation (via video call) to discuss the findings and answer technical questions.

Pay: £30,896.85-£40,000.00 per year
