We are looking for a motivated, proactive, and dedicated Associate Software Developer to join our team. You will play a vital role in enhancing our company by supporting and maintaining key business systems. You will embody our core behaviours of integrity, curiosity, warmth, and ambition. As a member of the IT team, it is key that you are able to work independently, as well as working efficiently as part of a team.

About Central Services

Based in Burton-on-Trent, SOCOTEC UK’s Head Office houses our Central Services teams. These teams provide a corporate structure to support the wider business. Central Services is broken down into four main areas: Human Resources, Marketing and Communications, Finance, and IT. Each of these areas is vital to the day-to-day running of SOCOTEC.

Job Description

This opportunity will focus on:

Innovate and Develop: Contribute to the development of exciting new features and build up our new platform.
Comprehensive Growth: Experience full-stack development across front-end, back-end, and mobile solutions, with full support from our team.
Continuous Learning: Share knowledge and skills and build your expertise through our structured knowledge guides and industry best practices.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

Strong analytical skills, ability to translate requirements into functional code.
Knowledge of SQL and/or postgres scripting/querying
Database design & development
Good problem solving abilities
Good knowledge of network, OS and wider infrastructure supporting business solutions
