Full job description

The White Hart in Witley is the flagship smokehouse of Dirty Sixth – a modern take on British barbecue serving up burgers, smoked meats, craft beer and cocktails.

We’re looking for full or part-time Kitchen Porters to join our crew. If you’re open to helping with food prep, there’s the chance to pick up extra hours.

Think of the Kitchen Porter role as the engine room of the kitchen. Without you, nothing runs.

What you’ll be doing

Keeping all kitchen surfaces and equipment spotless – ovens, stoves, sinks, walls, grills, the lot
Making sure the kitchen is reset and spotless at the end of service
Looking after storage areas (fridges, freezers, dry goods) and keeping them organised
Receiving deliveries and putting them away correctly
Washing pots, pans, boards, cutlery and loading/unloading the dishwasher
Taking out waste and keeping bins clear
Caring for cooking kit like mixers, pans and fryers
Giving the chefs a hand with simple prep (washing, peeling, chopping)
Helping the wider team wherever needed

It’s a graft, and we’re a busy restaurant – you’ll need to be calm, efficient, and unflappable when things get hectic.

Skills that will help you shine

Solid communication with chefs, managers, and the team
A sharp eye for detail and good time management
Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
Physical stamina for being on your feet during long shifts
Ability to stay cool under pressure
Team spirit – being reliable and supportive of your colleagues
Willingness to follow instructions and learn quickly

Pay starting from £12.75 p/h (based on experience)

28 days paid holiday (pro rata)
