Full job description

ROLE PURPOSE

Core Responsibilities

Liaising with the customer to ensure that an order fully reflects their requirements.

Provide technical product knowledge and support throughout the sales cycle

Prepare and deliver detailed technical proposals, quotations, and solution

recommendations

Interpret engineering specifications, and customer requirements to offer accurate

solutions

Collaborate with engineering, production, and operations teams to ensure feasibility

and accuracy of customer enquiries.

Generate clear, data-driven sales and performance reports

Analyse sales trends, customer data, and market opportunities to support business

growth

Maintain accurate CRM and ERP system data

Support customer site visits, technical discussions, and product demonstrations

Required Skills & Experience

Proven experience in technical sales within engineering, manufacturing, or marine

industries

Ability to understand and communicate effectively to customers

Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis

Experience using MRP/ERP systems in a technical or sales environment

Strong attention to detail

Confident communicator with commercial awareness

Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and commercial teams

Supplementary Activities

Providing cover for colleague duties during holidays.

Setting up new customers and verifying existing customer details on the WINMAN

business system.

Generate shipping quotations, including freight options, lead times, and export

documentation requirements

Log customer quotations, and purchase orders accurately into the CRM and MRP/ERP

systems

Provide order acknowledgment to customer.

Raise Pro-forma if necessary.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office suite (word, excel and PowerPoint).

A good professional standard of English both written and spoken.

Good numeracy.

Confident and professional manner.

Strong problem-solving mindset with a customer-focused approach

Confidence using IT such as CRM systems, and other software packages.

Desirable Attributes

Experience with CAD drawings or engineering documentation

Familiarity with marine engineering systems, components, or offshore engineering

Ability to streamline reporting processes and improve data accuracy

Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or supply-chain-driven industries

Familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Dynamics)

Strong commercial awareness and strategic thinking

Understanding of export processes, Incoterms, and international shipping

considerations.

Ability to streamline processes and introduce best-practice reporting methods

Proficiency in one or more additional languages

Pay: From £30,000.00 per year
