Job Summary
JKN Engineering are seeking a skilled Machinist specialising in CNC and manual machining to join our manufacturing team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating various machine tools to produce precision components, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained. Duties
- Operate CNC and manual machines such as mills, lathes, and grinders to produce components according to specifications.
- Interpret technical drawings using CAD software such as 3d SolidWorks and CAD programmes to ensure accurate machining.
- Set up and calibrate machines, including tooling selection and adjustments for optimal performance.
- Perform grinding, milling, drilling, and welding tasks as required to complete projects.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools for assembly, finishing, or minor repairs of machined parts.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products using basic math skills and measurement tools to verify dimensions.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to safety standards at all times.
- Collaborate with team members on complex projects involving assembly or tooling modifications.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in CNC machining and manual machining processes.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings and interpreting CAD files using SolidWorks or similar software.
- Knowledge of grinding, milling and welding
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised machinery confidently.
- Strong understanding of tooling setup, basic mathematics for measurements, and quality control procedures.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and safety compliance.
