Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Floor Manager or Bar Manager with Floor walking experience to oversee the smooth operation of our independent nightclub during evening hours, 3-4 nights a week. 8.30pm - 3am.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a vibrant, safe, and welcoming environment for customers while managing door staff & bar staff.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a lively alternative venue, ensuring all aspects of the nightclub run efficiently and professionally.
We can be extremely flexible with hours. There is the opportunity for full time hours if desired to include bar shifts in the adjoining pub during the day, or just part time hours if its more suitable to your needs.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff members including security personnel, to ensure seamless service throughout the night
- Handle complaints or issues quickly and maintain a fun, safe atmosphere.
- Enforce safety protocols including a responsible service of alcohol.
- Manage crowd control to maintain a secure environment for all customers
- Oversee club set up and close down of the venue, ensuring cleanliness and organisation before, during, and after operating hours
- Liaise with security personnel to handle any disturbances or emergencies effectively
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws and health & safety regulations at all times
- The ability to handle administrative tasks such as reporting incidents, staff location list, EPOS till errors, refunds. cashing up etc.
- Laise with intoxicated customers who may require assistance & ensure their safety when leaving the venue
- Take photos of customers for our social media platforms, training will be provided.
Skills
- Proven management experience within hospitality or nightlife settings
- Strong leadership skills with the confidence to manage a diverse team
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly yet professional demeanour
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise promptly.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with staff, security, management & customers confidently
- Knowledge of licensing laws, health & safety standards, and conflict resolution techniques, although specific venue training will be provided
- Cellar Management experience, although training will be provided
- Basic maintenance skills, the ability to deal with issues that may arise during the night.
- Ability to make decisions alone while senior management are otherwise disposed.
- An understanding & ability to adapt from a corporate background to working in an established independent venue if applicable.
Qualifications
- Preferably First Aid Trained, if not training will be provided.
- Preferably BIIAB Level 2 Alcohol Licensing, if not training will be provided
This is a permanent position and would suit somebody who lives local to the Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch area.

Pay: Up to £31,200.00 per year
