Job Title: Technical Assistant (Circuit Protection & Electrical Products)

Company: Live Electrical Distribution (UK) Limited Location: Trafford Park, Manchester, M17 1PH

About the Role

Live Electrical is a leading UK manufacturer and supplier of premium Consumer Units, Circuit Protection Devices (MCBs, RCBOs, RCDs, SPDs, AFDDs), and electrical distribution equipment. We are looking for a knowledgeable and proactive Technical Assistant to support our Technical Manager.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong technical electrical knowledge who enjoys helping customers and working hands-on with products.

Key Responsibilities:

Handle technical telephone and email enquiries from electricians, wholesalers, and customers across the UK
Provide expert advice on our range of circuit protection and distribution products
Test returned goods — inspect, diagnose faults, and process technical returns
Support the Technical Manager with product-related queries and technical documentation
Assist with maintaining high standards of product knowledge and customer satisfaction

Requirements:

Strong knowledge of circuit protection and electricity — essential
Ability to read and interpret electrical single-line drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
Good understanding of electrical installations, regulations (BS 7671), and common product applications
Excellent communication skills — confident on the phone and via email
Practical and detail-oriented with the ability to test and evaluate electrical products
Previous experience in an electrical wholesaler, manufacturer, or technical support role is highly desirable
Candidates will be required to answer a number of technical questions during the interview process with the Technical Manager
