Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant to support our busy culinary team. This role involves assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and a keen eye for detail, contributing to delivering excellent service in a fast-paced setting. Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is essential and ongoing training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Assist with basic food preparation tasks to support chefs and kitchen staff
Ensure all kitchen areas are kept clean and hygienic, including washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
Support with the organisation and storage of ingredients and supplies
Help with serving food and beverages when required
Maintain high standards of cleanliness in line with health and safety regulations
Assist in setting up and clearing down dining areas before and after service
Support the team during busy periods to ensure efficient workflow

Qualifications

Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is essential
Knowledge of kitchen safety and hygiene standards is advantageous
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and tasks
A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills in culinary operations
