Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a professional and welcoming Hotel Receptionist to join our team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, responsible for delivering exceptional guest services and ensuring a smooth check-in and check-out process. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic hospitality environment, providing personalised service to diverse guests. Previous hotel experience is highly desirable to enhance guest interactions and overall service quality.

Working pattern is based on Early (7:30am - 4pm) or Late (3pm - F) shifts, based on working a 5 day week, including weekends.

Responsibilities

Greet guests upon arrival and assist with check-in procedures
Manage guest enquiries efficiently via phone, email, or in person with exemplary phone etiquette
Handle reservations, cancellations, and modifications accurately using the hotel management system (RezControl)
Provide information about hotel facilities, local attractions, and services to enhance guest experience
Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure guest rooms meet quality standards
Process payments securely and issue receipts or invoices as required
Maintain a tidy and organised reception area at all times

Requirements

Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to converse fluently in English; additional languages such as French, Spanish, or Mandarin are advantageous
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Demonstrated proficiency in using hotel management software or similar systems is desirable
Knowledge of good phone etiquette and guest service principles
A friendly demeanour coupled with a professional appearance and attitude
