The Role:
As the range of projects that we work on grow, so does our team! We are currently looking to hire a Standards Technician in our R&D department at our coastal office in Weymouth. In this role will, Maintain and manage applications of current and developing technology for standard/catalogue parts, and engineering material and related standards.
You will:

Undertake review of all engineering material and related standards to ensure they are relevant and up to date with all National/International standards and regulations.

Evaluating potential methods of carrying out an engineering task and selecting the most appropriate solution

Apply knowledge to successfully create/maintain Engineering material and related standards.

Identify, organise, and use resources effectively to complete tasks, with consideration for cost, quality, safety, security, and environmental impact.

Fully understanding technical drawings, permits to work, instructions or other similar documents after appropriate checking, and identifying issues.

Checking requests for items meet H&S requirements.

Preparing communications, documents, and reports on technical matters.

Working within all relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks, including social and employment legislation.

Carry out and record the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to maintain and enhance competence
About You:

You Will Have:

Bachelors Degree in a technical discipline / equivalent level 6 qualification with midlevel experience, OR Level 5 qualification (HND) with senior level experience, OR Incorporated Engineer with mid-level experience,

Good understanding of functional mechanical/electromechanical design.

Experienced in material specifications for engineering requirements.

Knowledge of 3D CAD tools such as NX.

Knowledge of the product creation and change management processes.

Competent in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Knowledge of BS8888 and or ISO8015 drawing standards (Desirable)

Knowledge of RoHS, REACH legislation in relation to Engineering Materials and Treatments. (Desirable)

Knowledge of SAP ( Desirable)
