We’re looking for a Data Protection Apprentice to join our Legal Services team and support how we manage and protect data across the Group. This is a fantastic opportunity to kickstart your career, gaining practical experience while working towards a Level 4 Data Protection and Information Governance Practitioner qualification. You’ll learn from experienced colleagues, build valuable skills, and play an important role in keeping our customers’ information safe.
This is a 2-year apprenticeship, based at our Liverpool office 2–3 days per week (set days Monday and Tuesday), with the flexibility of agile working.
What you'll be doing:

Supporting the handling of individual rights requests, ensuring accurate and timely responses

Assisting with data breach investigations, escalating risks where needed

Maintaining key data protection records, including processing and data source registers

Supporting the development and review of data protection policies and guidance
-
Providing administrative support to the Group Data Protection Officer and Legal Services team

Keeping data protection resources, including SharePoint, up to date
-
Working with colleagues across Torus to promote good data protection practices

Managing your workload effectively and adapting to changing priorities

Learning and applying data protection legislation, including GDPR
-
Handling data securely and in line with policies and regulatory requirements

Actively completing your apprenticeship learning and development

Promoting equality, diversity and safeguarding in all aspects of your work
What we're looking for:

A good standard of education, including GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
-
A willingness and ability to work towards a Level 4 qualification in Data Protection and Information Governance

Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to handle sensitive information appropriately
-
Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
-
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
-
Confidence using IT systems, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn new systems quickly

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
-
A proactive, flexible and motivated approach, with a willingness to learn

An interest in data protection, compliance or legal services
-
A commitment to doing the right thing and treating people fairly and respectfully
Interview process:
Candidates will be invited to attend an interview which will include a competency-based discussion exploring your skills, behaviours and motivation for the role, alongside a short 15-minute task involving reading and writing to assess your attention to detail and communication skills. Interviews will take place on Wednesday 22nd July at our Liverpool City Centre Office.
