About the Role
We are looking for a caring, reliable and hardworking Kennel Assistant to join our friendly team at our professional breeding kennel based in Holywell.
This is a permanent part-time position working 2–3 days per week (Monday to Friday). Working days will be agreed with the successful applicant.
An immediate start is available.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing the highest standard of general care for all dogs and puppies.
- Cleaning and disinfecting kennels, exercise areas and equipment.
- Feeding and watering dogs and monitoring food intake.
- Walking and exercising dogs safely.
- Grooming and maintaining the cleanliness and condition of the dogs.
- Monitoring the health, wellbeing and behaviour of all animals, reporting any concerns promptly.
- Providing enrichment, handling and socialisation appropriate to each dog's age and temperament.
- Washing bedding, cleaning feeding equipment and maintaining a clean, organised working environment.
- Maintaining excellent hygiene and biosecurity standards throughout the kennel.
- Assisting with all general day-to-day kennel duties to ensure the smooth running of the business.
What We're Looking For
The successful applicant will be:
- Passionate about dogs and committed to providing exceptional standards of animal care.
- Reliable, punctual and trustworthy.
- Hardworking with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically fit and prepared for a physically demanding role, including lifting, bending, standing for long periods and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Calm and confident when handling dogs of all ages, sizes and temperaments.
Previous kennel or animal care experience is an advantage but not essential, as full training will be provided.
This role would be ideal for someone studying or who has completed a Small Animal Care or Animal Management course and is looking to gain valuable hands-on experience.
