Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Fabricator / Welder to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding metal components, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to safety standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in various welding techniques, particularly TIG welding, to contribute to the production of durable metal structures and assemblies.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate metal parts and assemblies using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
- Perform TIG welding and other welding techniques to join sheet metal and structural components accurately.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure precise fabrication.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and efficiently.
- Measure materials accurately using basic math skills to meet project specifications.
- Assist in the assembly of fabricated components into finished products or structures.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure compliance with standards.
Skills
- Proficiency in TIG welding and other welding methods relevant to UK welding standards.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication processes involving sheet metal and structural steel.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations during fabrication.
- Familiarity with assembly processes for completing finished products or structures.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail, safety consciousness, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
