The role

We’re looking for passionate, hard-workers with some previous optical experience ready to confidently welcome and help customers as they walk through our doors. And once you’ve found your feet as an Optical Assistant, you won’t just have to stop there. We have plenty of professional training and development in other business areas, as well as the support of experienced Opticians and Technicians supporting you on your journey. So whatever you want your career to look like, you can bring it to life at Specsavers.

Our store

The Specsavers store in Saltash is a busy and customer-focused optical and audiology practice, located in the heart of the local community. The store features four fully equipped test rooms, supporting a high standard of clinical care and an efficient patient journey. The store prides itself on building lasting relationships with customers, ensuring every visit is tailored, efficient, and welcoming while upholding the trusted reputation of the Specsavers brand. Conveniently located with excellent public transport links, the store is easily accessible via local bus routes and is within close proximity to Saltash railway station, making it well-connected for both customers and colleagues commuting from surrounding areas.

The team at the Saltash Specsavers store is friendly, experienced, and highly collaborative, creating a welcoming environment for both customers and colleagues. Made up of skilled optical professionals, support staff, and clinical experts, the team works closely together to ensure a smooth and efficient patient journey. There is a strong focus on teamwork, development, and delivering excellent customer care, with colleagues supporting one another in a positive and inclusive atmosphere. The store fosters a culture of continuous learning and encouragement, making it an ideal place for individuals who are passionate about customer service and keen to grow within a well-established and reputable business.

Salary up to £13.50ph, depending on experience and optical qualification
Full Time - 40 hours a week, to include weekend working
