Job Overview
We are seeking a part time dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional food experiences. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily operations, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety are maintained. This role offers an excellent opportunity for career progression within a reputable hospitality establishment committed to excellence.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations and ensuring smooth workflow
Supervise and motivate kitchen staff, including cooks and food preparation assistants
Oversee food production, ensuring dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation
Coordinate food preparation activities to meet service times and customer expectations
Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards
Assist in menu planning, ingredient ordering, and inventory control
Support in training new team members and fostering a positive team environment
Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and used safely
Serve as a role model for professionalism, cleanliness, and efficiency within the kitchen

Skills

Proven supervising experience within a busy culinary environment
Extensive knowledge of food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
Strong team management skills with the ability to lead by example
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and safety standards
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods
Good understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality settings
Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable
Effective communication skills to coordinate with front-of-house staff and kitchen team members
Leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making
