Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Part-time Quantity Surveyor to join our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their career within the construction sector. The successful candidate will assist with cost control, budgeting, and financial management of projects, ensuring that all work is completed within budgetary constraints. The position is ideal for those pursuing a career in quantity surveying or related fields, offering valuable practical experience in a professional environment.
Responsibilities

Assist in preparing and analysing project budgets and cost estimates
Monitor project costs and identify potential overruns or savings opportunities
Support the procurement process by preparing tender documents and evaluating bids
Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to projects
Collaborate with project managers and contractors to ensure cost control measures are adhered to
Conduct site visits to assess progress and verify quantities for billing purposes
Assist in preparing reports on project financial status for stakeholders
Contribute to risk management by identifying potential financial issues early on
Experience
Previous experience or relevant education in quantity surveying, construction management, or a related field is desirable but not essential
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Good understanding of cost control principles within construction projects
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficiency in MS Office applications; familiarity with industry-specific software is a plus
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Pay: £19.23-£33.65 per hour
