Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Motor Vehicle Technician/MOT Tester to join our dynamic automotive service team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of vehicles to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. Your expertise will help keep our customers’ vehicles in top condition while adhering to all safety regulations and testing procedures. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical skills in a fast-paced environment dedicated to quality service and customer satisfaction.

Duties

Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify mechanical issues and ensure compliance with MOT testing standards.
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire rotations, and fluid replacements.
Use schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and repair vehicle systems accurately.
Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly machinery safely and efficiently.
Complete detailed reports on vehicle condition, repairs performed, and test results for record-keeping and customer communication.
Assist with heavy lifting tasks involving engine components or vehicle parts using appropriate equipment and techniques.
Maintain a clean, organized workspace while adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.

Skills

Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret schematics and technical diagrams.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques.
Experience with vehicle maintenance, equipment repair, and troubleshooting automotive systems.
Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about repairs and testing outcomes.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining physical stamina throughout shifts.
Knowledge of safety protocols related to vehicle inspection, maintenance work, and equipment operation.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow precise procedures during MOT testing.
