Stress Engineer
Working pattern: remote (occasional visits to site in Helensburgh)

About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Stress Engineer to support the technical capability of the Design Authority (DA). This role will be suited to engineers with strong expertise in structural integrity, stress analysis and assessment of safety-critical infrastructure.
Key Deliverables:
- Delivering technical assurance and stress analysis of structural components, ensuring compliance with safety regulatory requirements.
- Performing and reviewing structural integrity assessment including load case derivation and analysis for static and dynamic conditions.
- Conducting stress and fatigue analysis for reinforced concrete and steel structures, including ageing and degradation considerations.
- Supporting the development and maintenance of safety cases, including contributions to HAZID/HAZOP.
Discharge and display a robust safety and security culture.

Key Requirements / Qualifications:
Essential
- Experience in stress analysis and structural integrity assessment of reinforced concrete and steel structures
- Demonstrable experience analysis structures under static and dynamic loading, preferably including seismic, blast, thermal and environmental loads
- Experience using analytical and/or numerical methods (e.g. finite element analysis) to justify structural performance
- Experience producing robust technical justification to support design modification or continued operation in a high-hazard environment.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g. Eurocodes, BS, ASME etc.)
- Good skills in verbal and written communication.
- The ability to effectively manage and prioritise your own workload.
- HNC or equivalent qualifications and experience in a relevant engineering discipline (Mechanical, Civil, Structural or related discipline).
Desirable
- Incorporated Engineer status or equivalent experience and standing
- Degree or equivalent qualifications and experience in a relevant engineering discipline
