Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and professional Weekend Server to join our team. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional guest service in a lively dining environment, ensuring guests enjoy a memorable experience. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for hospitality and food service, looking to work flexible weekend hours. The successful applicant will be responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere throughout their shift.

Responsibilities

Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, personalised service throughout their visit
Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring special dietary requirements are accommodated
Serve meals and drinks efficiently while maintaining presentation standards
Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities in a friendly manner
Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are adhered to during service
Assist with basic food preparation tasks as required, supporting kitchen staff when necessary
Manage guest queries promptly and professionally, resolving any issues to ensure satisfaction
Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, including setting tables and clearing used items
Handle cash or electronic payments accurately at the end of each shift
Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operation

Skills

Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
Knowledge of food safety standards and basic food preparation techniques
Excellent guest service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanour
Strong organisational skills with effective time management to handle multiple tables efficiently
Basic maths skills for processing bills and payments accurately
Ability to upsell menu items confidently to enhance guest experience and sales
Kitchen experience or culinary background is advantageous but not mandatory
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
