Job Role and Key Responsibilities
We are looking for a proactive and commercially minded Management Accountant to join our finance team. You will be confident working independently, keeping things accurate and on track in a busy environment.
This is a hands-on role with responsibility for delivering timely management information, supporting decision making, and maintaining strong financial control. You will also act as a trusted point of contact within the finance team when the Finance Manager is not available.
The role would suit an experienced Management Accountant or someone ready to take the next step in their career within a supportive and growing business, with a high level of ownership and visibility across the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
· Preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary
· Ownership of weekly reporting on revenue, margins and cost of sales
· Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities
· Balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls
· Providing financial insight to operational teams to support decision making
· Improving finance processes, reporting and controls
· Supporting audit, VAT and cash flow reporting requirements
· Supporting finance operations, including payroll and transactional processes
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications required:
· AAT qualified or equivalent experience
· Experience preparing management accounts and financial reporting
· Strong Excel and analytical skills
· Good understanding of reconciliations and financial controls
· Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across the business
· Able to take ownership, work proactively and manage priorities effectively
· ACCA/CIMA part-qualified or studying
· Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting or VAT returns
· Manufacturing industry experience
· Payroll experience
· Degree (or degree equivalent) level qualification
· Full UK Driving License
