Full job description

We’re looking for a commercially minded Senior Finance Business Partner to play a key role in shaping financial strategy and supporting decision-making across our business.

Role and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you’ll act as a trusted partner to the business—providing insight, challenge, and support across a diverse portfolio of assets and stakeholders.

This is a hands-on, commercially focused role combining financial control, analysis, and strategic input.

Key responsibilities and activities include:

Business partnering & strategy

Provide insight and analysis to support key business decisions
Partner with operational teams to align financial and commercial objectives
Contribute to financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
Support development of financial strategy and investment decisions

Financial management & reporting

Oversee financial reporting and ensure compliance with standards
Deliver clear, meaningful analysis and performance insights
Review and challenge internal and external reporting outputs

Asset and portfolio support

Support financial oversight of renewable energy assets
Review budgets, forecasts, and valuation models
Provide variance analysis and commentary to stakeholders

Governance & control

Support audit processes and regulatory compliance
Maintain and improve a robust control environment
Identify risks and implement appropriate mitigations

Continuous improvement

Identify opportunities to improve systems and processes
Contribute to a culture of innovation and collaboration

We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical skills with commercial awareness and the confidence to engage stakeholders.

Essential

Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience in a business partnering or commercially focused role
Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly
Proactive, collaborative, and adaptable approach

Desirable (but not essential)

Experience in renewables, energy, or asset-based businesses
Exposure to financial modelling and valuation
Experience working with operational or engineering teams

Working arrangements

Based in Grimsby
Full-time (40 hours) with flexibility considered
Occasional UK travel
