Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Domestic Assistant to join our care home team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and staff alike. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the well-being of vulnerable individuals by ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the facility. The position is paid and suitable for individuals committed to providing excellent domestic support in a caring setting.

Duties

Perform comprehensive cleaning tasks across all areas of the care home, including bedrooms, communal spaces, bathrooms, and kitchens.
Ensure all cleaning equipment and supplies are used safely and efficiently, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
Maintain high standards of hygiene by disinfecting surfaces, waste disposal, and laundry duties as required.
Assist with organising supplies and stock levels to ensure smooth daily operations.
Support residents with their personal hygiene needs when required, respecting their dignity and privacy.
Report any maintenance issues or hazards promptly to management for resolution.
Follow infection control procedures diligently to prevent the spread of illness within the care environment.

Skills

Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
Experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting is advantageous, demonstrating familiarity with hygiene standards in sensitive environments.
Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail to ensure cleanliness standards are consistently met.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a busy environment.
Good communication skills to liaise effectively with colleagues and residents when necessary.
Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a high level of professionalism at all times.
