Job Summary

We are seeking skilled and qualified Pipe Layers / Groundworkers / Groundwork Gangs to join our construction team. The successful candidates will be responsible for performing groundworks in various civil engineering projects. This role requires a strong understanding of site safety, technical skills, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. The position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within the construction industry while contributing to vital infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

Installation of underground pipelines and civil engineering elements according to project specifications and safety standards
Prepare ground surfaces by excavating, levelling, and compacting soil or other materials
Operate machinery such as excavators and other heavy equipment safely and effectively
Use hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment to assist with installation tasks
Assist with welding, cutting, and joining pipes where necessary
Conduct inspections of installed pipelines to ensure quality and compliance with regulations
Maintain a clean and organised worksite, adhering to health and safety protocols at all times
Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and ensure smooth workflow

Skills

Proven experience operating excavators, power tools, and hand tools in a construction environment
Mechanical knowledge relevant to pipe laying and groundworks
Electrical experience or understanding of electrical systems is advantageous
Welding skills for pipe joining or repair tasks
Ability to interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications accurately
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Good physical fitness with the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment

Tickets

CSCS / CPCS / NPORS Tickets are required
EUSR Card for Cat 1 Location of Underground Services would be recommended
Confined Space (Medium Risk) Qualification
