Full job description

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Drainage Engineer to join our growing team. This is a varied role covering reactive and planned drainage works for commercial, industrial and residential customers across the Midlands.

The successful candidate will be confident working independently, delivering a high standard of workmanship while maintaining excellent customer service and adhering to strict health and safety procedures.

Working Hours

Primarily Monday to Friday
Participation in an out-of-hours on-call rota
Overtime opportunities available
Occasional flexibility required to meet customer needs

Key Responsibilities

Carry out the unblocking of internal and external drainage systems.
Diagnose drainage issues and identify the most effective repair solutions.
Undertake CCTV drain surveys and accurately identify defects.
Operate CCTV inspection equipment and produce clear reports where required.
Carry out Picote descaling and pipe cleaning works.
Complete basic plumbing tasks associated with drainage repairs.
Perform fault finding on drainage systems and recommend remedial works.
Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
Maintain company vehicles, tools and equipment.
Complete job reports and paperwork accurately using handheld devices.
Deliver excellent customer service while representing the company professionally.

Essential Requirements

Experience working within the drainage industry.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Good knowledge of internal and external drainage systems.
Experience carrying out drain unblocking and fault diagnosis.
Ability to work independently and make safe decisions on site.
Strong understanding of health and safety.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Willingness to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota.

Desirable (but Not Essential)

Experience using CCTV drain survey equipment.
Experience operating a Picote descaling system.
Basic plumbing experience.
High Pressure Water Jetting qualification.
Confined Space, CSCS or Street Works qualifications.
Experience working within commercial and social housing environments.
