Print & Print finishing Operative
The Print Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining various printing equipment to produce high-quality printed materials. This role requires an individual with strong technical abilities, an understanding of print production processes, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Set up and operate printing presses (digital, offset, or other specialized presses) according to job specifications.
· Load and prepare print materials (pvc, polyester, and other substrates) for each print job.
· Monitor print jobs to ensure quality standards are met and make adjustments as necessary.
· Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on printing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
· Review job orders, proofs, and specifications to ensure accuracy and efficiency of print runs.
· Troubleshoot any issues with printing equipment, including substrate jams, ink problems, or technical malfunctions.
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of print area and equipment.
· Work closely with production teams and supervisors to meet deadlines and quality standards.
· Adhere to safety guidelines and ensure the work environment is safe and efficient.
· Ordering raw materials for print based on requirement.
· Track and maintain inventory of materials used in the printing process.
· Support with product finishing requirements and where possible be trained to complete certain finishing requirements.
· Assist in other areas of the business with the objectives required. These could including managing goods in and out, helping with inventory assessment and general warehouse work.
Experience:
- Previous experience in printing is beneficial, but not essential.
- Must be computer lierate and have experience of standard IT packages.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Physical capability to handle warehouse tasks, including lifting and moving materials.
Qualifications:
- Full UK driving licence preferred
- Machinery tickets for forklifts etc, preferable but not essential
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £12.71-£13.45 per hour
