Do you want to shape security strategy, not just implement it, and work directly with senior stakeholders across complex programmes?

Are you looking for a role where you can lead security improvements end-to-end and influence how the business approaches risk?

We’re looking for a Senior Information Security Consultant to join our team, providing expert guidance across projects, systems, and business units. This is a key role, working closely with senior stakeholders to shape security strategy and deliver practical, business-aligned solutions.

You’ll play a central role in shaping how security supports the business, working on varied, high-impact projects with strong stakeholder exposure. This is an opportunity to influence direction, not just deliver against it.

What you'll do

Lead information security assurance across projects, programmes, and business areas
Provide clear, practical security guidance to both business and technology teams
Design and implement security improvements across applications and infrastructure
Support the development and ongoing improvement of the Information Security Management System (ISMS)
Monitor emerging threats and recommend appropriate mitigations
Contribute to broader security transformation initiatives
Mentor team members and support capability development

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

Proven experience in a senior information security or consultancy role
Strong understanding of frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS Controls
Track record of delivering security strategy and measurable improvements
Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
Strong communication skills, able to translate complex topics clearly
Experience leading or shaping complex security initiatives

Experience within financial services or other regulated environments
Knowledge of cloud security (Azure and/or AWS)
Understanding of infrastructure and platform security
Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CRISC)

The base

You'll be based at the Benchmark Head Office, within our Broadlands Business Campus near Horsham in West Sussex but will need to be present across our other offices, including the main Schroders headquarters in London. It has high standards and international reputation, without being in the city: a big, countryside campus means life will feel a little different.

We support our offices by using cutting edge software and hardware and our spacious campus facilities mean there's a great working environment for the team. With an on-site restaurant, coffee shop and gym, our campus has much to offer. And commuters can relax on our dedicated regular shuttle bus to and from Horsham’s main line train station.
