Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Garage Door Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems, with the ability to diagnose and repair various types of garage doors and openers both residential and industrial. This role requires proficiency in using hand and power tools, as well as the ability to read and interpret schematics. A commitment to safety and quality workmanship is essential.
Duties
- Install, repair, and maintain garage doors and openers for residential and industrial/commercial properties.
- Diagnose issues with garage door systems, including mechanical failures and electrical malfunctions.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools to perform installations and repairs efficiently.
- Fabricate components as needed, ensuring they meet specifications for functionality and safety.
- Read and interpret schematics to understand complex systems.
- Collaborate with clients to provide excellent customer service, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are stored properly after use.
- Adhere to safety protocols while working at heights or in confined spaces.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Garage Door Technician or in a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with carpentry skills is advantageous
- Proficiency in working with electrical systems related to garage door openers is highly desirable.
- Experience in building or fabricating components will be beneficial.
- A valid driver's licence may be required for travel between job sites.
