The Digital Systems Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the administration, development, and training of the department’s business-critical systems. These systems are vital for the daily operations, project delivery, and execution of key activities such as end-of-year processes, system upgrades, and compliance with statutory, legislative, and regulatory requirements. The role ensures effective system operation, maintains data integrity, and provides user support to enhance efficiency, improve service delivery, and contribute to the department's digital transformation.

- Maintain, monitor, and reconcile data transfers between systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness for period-end and year-end processes.
- Support the effective operation of departmental systems, aligning with internal and external processes.
- Provide front-line systems support and deliver training to over 300 users across the department.
- Assist with system maintenance, upgrades, and enhancements, promoting innovative digital practices.
- Contribute to digital transformation initiatives, ensuring systems deliver real-time, reliable data.
- Undertake system-related activities including investigation, feasibility studies, analysis, design, development, testing, integration, and implementation.
- Analyse application requirements, produce reports, and make recommendations for robust system performance.
- Support the implementation and development of new systems, ensuring thorough testing and integrity before deployment.
- Monitor service delivery issues and system performance, identifying risks and implementing solutions.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and contribute to project and departmental groups for continuous improvement.

- Higher Diploma in IT or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject area.
- Proven experience in an IT systems role.

- Experience in IT system support, maintenance, and development.
- Proven experience integrating data across multiple systems and databases.
- Experience supporting users, customers, and stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies and systems.
- Understanding of statutory, legislative, and regulatory requirements within a systems environment.
