Full job description

Due to our continued success in providing better lives for children living within our residential children's homes, Social Care Services Group is providing employment opportunities to work with children with learning disabilities and a great career opportunity within our established teams in children’s homes across Greater Manchester.

We are a Real Living Wage Employer starting at a minimum of £13.45 per hour.

Location: Several Vacancies including Bolton, Horwich, Westhoughton, across Greater Manchester

So… even if you have no prior experience this could be your opportunity to start a career caring for children and young people. We will provide training and qualification to Level 4 Diploma and support from experienced teams to enable you to succeed with a structured pay scale and career development opportunities.

What are the roles?

These are full time and part time positions and involve providing daily care and support for our young people including daily routine support, communication, independent living skills, learning and leisure activities. Some challenging behaviours may present, so similar experience is preferred but not essential.

The job is amazing at times but also requires you to be energetic, have a lot of patience and there are times when personal care is required to support the children living in their home.

The children may have been subjected to abuse, involved in sexual or criminal exploitation, Learning Disabilities, or are Neuro Divergent and may have suffered neglect and other forms of abuse throughout their short lives. You could be one of our team that can show them there is a better life and that adults can be trusted, maybe for the first time in their life!

What are the hours?

The roles operate on a rotating combination shift pattern as below:

We are looking for staff that can work a variation of shifts to meet the needs of the children. This will involve 24 hour shifts with paid sleep in, varied start times and finishes and working Bank Holidays including Christmas & New year.

Average 37 hours per week (Full time) and 24 hours per week (Part time), including working weekends and sleep in duties paid as additional hours

What are the benefits?

Salary from: £31,500 - Based on Full Time Position and experience with a valid qualification already (including additional sleep in payments and subject to experience). Note: Part Time position will pay less than Full Time hours.

Employer contribution Pension scheme, full training and qualifications provided, paid holidays, additional pay for sleep in duties (£71.25) and good career development opportunities.
