Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Plumber/Pipefitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining piping systems across commercial and industrial sites. This role requires a strong understanding of plumbing principles, mechanical systems, and the ability to work with various tools and materials. Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain piping systems using appropriate techniques and materials
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialised tools to complete tasks efficiently
- Perform cutting, threading, fitting, and assembly of pipes and fixtures
- Conduct inspections to identify leaks or system malfunctions and perform necessary repairs
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes
- Assist in the setup of scaffolding or ladders as needed for elevated work
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within budget
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment at all times
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a plumber or pipefitter in commercial or industrial settings
- Proficiency in welding, carpentry, and mechanical knowledge is highly desirable
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and assembly techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to pipework installation
- Valid driving licence for commercial driving duties is preferred but not mandatory
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
