Driver & Event Setup Assistant (Self-Employed)
We are currently looking to recruit a reliable and motivated Driver & Event Setup Assistant to support our growing hire business.
Our business provides a range of event hire services including 360 Photo Booths, teepee sleepover setups, soft play equipment, and other event items. The role involves delivering equipment, setting up where required, monitoring selected hires, and returning later to collect equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and collect hire equipment to customer locations
- Set up and dismantle equipment where required
- Monitor and manage the 360 Photo Booth during event bookings
- Ensure all equipment is transported safely and professionally
- Provide friendly and professional customer service at events
360 Photo Booth Bookings
The 360 Photo Booth requires attendance and supervision throughout the booking period.
Rates include:
- Travel (within 5 miles)
- Approx. 30 minutes setup
- Event monitoring time
- Approx. 30 minutes takedown
Payment structure:
- 1-hour booking – £55
- 2-hour booking – £90
- 3-hour booking – £120
- 4-hour booking – £150
- 5-hour booking – £180
Any travel charges paid by customers for bookings outside the included area will be passed directly to the driver.
Most 360 booth bookings take place during evenings and weekends.
Equipment Delivery & Setup
For teepees, soft play, and other hire items:
- Deliveries and collections within 5 miles of Houghton are paid at £35 per booking
- Most jobs take up to 2 hours including delivery, setup (where required), and collection
- Additional travel charges for locations beyond 5 miles will be paid to the driver
- Teepee bedding and preparation will already be completed in advance
Physical Requirements
This role involves manual handling and some heavy lifting. A trolley is provided to assist with moving equipment. The heaviest item is the 360 Photo Booth platform, which requires loading and unloading into a vehicle.
Experience & Requirements
- No experience required – full training provided
- Must have a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- Must be reliable, punctual, and comfortable with manual handling
- This is a self-employed position
This is a flexible role that works particularly well for someone looking for weekend and evening workwith varied event-based hours.
We are also looking for someone who is open to the idea of doing mascot work for us(not something we offer yet but hope to in future) this will be a 30 min appearance.
Pay: £55.00-£180.00 per hour
