Demand Planner

Job Purpose

The Demand Planner is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring production schedules to ensure products are manufactured efficiently, on time The role balances customer demand, capacity, materials, and labour to optimize production flow and inventory levels.

Responsibilities & Duties

Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and inventory targets
Coordinate with Sales, Procurement, Engineering, and Manufacturing to align demand and supply plans
Plan material requirements and work closely with purchasing to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components
Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to address delays, capacity constraints, or changes in demand
Analyse production capacity, labour availability, and equipment utilization to improve efficiency
Maintain accurate data on stock levels both onsite and offsite
Identify risks to delivery schedules and proactively propose mitigation actions
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to planning accuracy, lead times, and inventory optimization
Prepare and present planning reports, KPIs, and performance metrics to management
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
Liaise with customers and suppliers to manage delivery dates and production plans

Key Performance Indicators

Schedule adherence / on-time delivery
Inventory turns and stock accuracy
Production efficiency and capacity utilization
Planning accuracy vs. forecast
Lead time reduction

Skills:

Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge - Macros, Pivot Tables & etc.
Microsoft Power BI knowledge
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
Effective communication and stakeholder coordination skills
Ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities
Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset
