Housekeeping Supervisor
Location: Argyll Hotel & Argyll Guest House, Glasgow
Hours: 5 days per week (including weekends on a rota basis)
We are looking for an experienced, reliable, and hands-on Housekeeping Supervisor to join our friendly team.
This is a supervisory role with a practical element. The successful candidate will spend two days each week carrying out quality control inspections of guest rooms and public areas, ensuring our high cleanliness standards are consistently met. On the remaining three days, you will work alongside the housekeeping team cleaning guest rooms and supporting the daily operation.
You will also provide holiday and absence cover for our Head Housekeeper, taking responsibility for the housekeeping department when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support the housekeeping team.
- Carry out quality inspections of guest rooms and public areas.
- Ensure rooms are cleaned and presented to the highest standard.
- Train and coach new housekeeping staff.
- Assist with daily room cleaning and servicing.
- Monitor linen, amenities, and housekeeping supplies.
- Report maintenance issues promptly.
- Ensure health & safety and hotel standards are maintained at all times.
- Cover the Head Housekeeper's duties during holidays and other absences.
What We're Looking For
- Previous housekeeping experience in a hotel is essential.
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to motivate and lead a team by example.
- Flexible approach to working weekends and holidays when required.
- A positive attitude and willingness to work alongside the team.
