Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Supply SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with special educational needs, particularly those with autism and disabilities. This role involves working within a vibrant educational environment, assisting teachers and providing tailored support to pupils. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, especially in special education settings, and possess excellent communication skills. This is a paid position suitable for individuals eager to make a positive impact on young learners’ lives.
Responsibilities
- Support children with special educational needs, including those with autism and disabilities, in classroom activities and behaviour management.
- Assist teachers in delivering personalised learning programmes tailored to individual pupils’ needs.
- Provide care and support for toddlers and young children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Implement behaviour management strategies and promote inclusive learning environments.
- Foster effective communication with pupils, staff, and parents to ensure consistent support.
- Help organise classroom resources and materials to facilitate engaging learning experiences.
- Support pupils during break times, lunch periods, and specialised activities to promote social interaction and development.
Requirements
- Experience working with children, particularly within special education or autism support settings, is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of working with individuals with disabilities or behavioural challenges.
- Prior experience in teaching or supporting children with special educational needs is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pupils, colleagues, and parents.
- Compassionate, patient, organised, and able to adapt to the diverse needs of pupils.
- Ability to work flexibly as part of a team in a dynamic educational environment.
- Relevant qualifications or training related to special education or childcare are preferred but not essential. Pay: £14.25-£16.82 per hour
