Key Responsibilities in the IT Support Role:
- Backup Management: Monitor and maintain client backups on a daily basis to ensure data integrity and security.
- Technical Support: Provide first-line customer support via phone, email, and helpdesk, addressing and resolving technical issues efficiently.
- User Account Administration: Manage Active Directory user creation, modifications, and deactivation as required.
- Device & Printer Management: Configure, install, and troubleshoot network printers and other peripheral devices.
- Microsoft 365 / Azure Administration: Perform user management tasks, including licence assignments, mailbox configurations, and security updates.
- Network Resource Management: Map network drives and ensure seamless access to shared resources.
- Password Management: Assist users with password resets and account recovery procedures while maintaining security best practices.
- Problem-Solving & Infrastructure Adaptation: Diagnose and resolve IT-related issues across multiple client infrastructures, requiring strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly adapt to different environments.
Essential Skills & Experience
Infrastructure & Networking:
- Proficiency in core networking technologies, including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and file-sharing protocols.
- Strong understanding of network resource management, including printer configurations and shared drive access.
Server Administration:
- Experience managing Windows Server 2016 – Windows Server 2022, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Hyper-V, including virtual machine creation, resource allocation, and performance optimisation.
Identity & Access Management:
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory and Entra ID, including user creation, password resets, and permission allocation.
Microsoft 365 Administration:
- Expertise in Microsoft 365, including OneDrive, SharePoint, 2FA (Multi-Factor Authentication), mailbox management, and shared mailbox creation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 licensing, ensuring correct licence allocation and compliance.
Desktop Support & Troubleshooting:
- In-depth experience with Windows 10/11, including diagnostics for performance issues, hardware checks, Office 365 troubleshooting, and Windows updates.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve software and hardware-related issues on end-user devices.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Group Policy Management – Configuration and administration of Group Policy Objects (GPO) for user and device management.
- Hyper-V Replication – Experience with Hyper-V replication for disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
- Jira Ticketing System – Familiarity with Jira for tracking and managing IT support requests and incidents.
- Altaro Backup Solutions – Knowledge of Altaro for data backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Roaming Profiles & Redirected Folders – Experience in managing user profiles and redirected folders to ensure seamless access across devices.
- 3CX VoIP Systems – Understanding of 3CX installation, configuration, and troubleshooting for business communications.
- VPN Configuration – Proficiency in setting up and managing VPNs for secure remote access.
- Sage Line 50 & Payroll – Experience supporting and troubleshooting Sage Line 50 and Sage Payroll software.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: Competitive, in the range of £26,000 – £32,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
- Holiday Allowance: 24 days annual leave, plus statutory bank holidays.
