About Cherry Trees:

Cherry Trees is an eight bedded respite (short breaks) unit located in Shepley.

It provides short stays for adults with a wide range of learning disabilities and complex health needs. We provide high quality care for people who are on the autistic spectrum and can display some challenging Behaviours. We also offer support to people who have Physical and sensory disabilities.

The building has just undertaken an extensive refurbishment and fitted with brand new state of the art facilities such as a sensory room, an immersive room, sensory bathroom, and a fabulous break out room which looks out on to immaculate sensory gardens and a vegetable patch.

As a respite service we offer short stays to our service users and their family to have a break from the caring role. This means that we have different people accessing our service all the time and this can be a fast turnover. Respite not only gives people a break from their usual routine it also creates opportunities for our service users to develop new friendships, have new experiences, build their confidence, learn new skills, and take part in activities that might not be available in everyday life.

The staff team at Cherry trees are unique and dynamic who are committed to providing the best quality care possible to everyone in our care. We are flexible and creative always thinking outside the box and believe that there is nothing we cannot achieve.

The Role:

Your main role will be to:

Enable service users to get the best out of their experience whilst in our care.
Provide quality care and support
Assist service users by preserving their independence as much possible, always maintaining dignity and respect and working in a person-centred way.
Assist with tasks such as promoting practical daily living skills such as preparing meals, finances, laundry, personal care / hygiene tasks, medication, and developing service user understanding of social interaction, and fostering positive relationships.

It is essential that you have a good level of understanding of adult social care along with a Care Certificate in Care or a willingness to achieve this.

You must be able to demonstrate a commitment to personal and professional training and development and possess a basic awareness of both health and safety issues and food hygiene.

You will work on a 7-day rota including weekends, evenings, and public holidays. The earliest start will be 7:00am and the latest finish will be 10:00pm.
