Our social responsibility ethos is strong and we regularly participate in fundraising events – be it on mountains, across the moorlands or down to the sea – we work together to make lives better and the communities in which we work happier and healthier.
The Team:
The Residential Property team combines efficient legal support colleagues with trusted and experienced conveyancing lawyers who, together, deliver outstanding client service across the full range of residential property services.
Our Residential Property department is led by Jenna Hamilton-Pursglove, a Partner and Chartered Legal Executive, who has a wealth of experience across a broad range of conveyancing matters, specialising in shared ownership purchases, unregistered land and lease extensions. Jenna is based in our Exeter office and supports her team across all three offices of the firm. The team includes a number of highly accomplished and qualified lawyers who collectively provide our clients with a first-class service, offering clear advice and support along every step of the conveyancing process.
In our friendly and experienced Residential Property team, you will feel supported in what you do whilst enjoying the autonomy to use your initiative and self-manage your working day once you have become familiar with our processes and procedures and the firm’s standards and expectations.
The Role:
As a Legal Support Assistant, based in the Torquay office, you will be expected to provide effective administrative and secretarial support using a bespoke case management system and a wide range of business software applications.
You will primarily assist an Associate (Chartered Legal Executive), who is an experienced and well-regarded conveyancer, with progressing residential conveyancing matters from instruction through to completion. This will include but will not be limited to the preparation and submission of searches, conducting searches and enquiries through the Land Registry Portal, filing SDLT returns, preparing completion work including completion statements and preparing files for closing and archiving.
You will also be expected to have contact with clients, both in person and by telephone and email, as well as with other law firms and related professional organisations and agents.
And finally, you will work collaboratively with your colleagues to ensure that the work of the Residential Property team in Torquay is carried out in accordance with the firm’s own standards and you will endeavour to deliver a high quality, efficient and effective professional legal service by ensuring that documentation is prepared and produced to a consistently high standard within required deadlines.
