Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Motor Vehicle Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of motor vehicles, ensuring safety and optimal performance. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for automotive mechanics and a commitment to quality service. The position involves working with modern diagnostic tools and repair equipment, providing valuable hands-on experience in a professional environment.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive diagnostics using schematics and specialised equipment to identify vehicle issues.
Perform repairs and maintenance tasks on various motor vehicles, including engine, transmission, brake systems, and electrical components.
Utilise hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to carry out assembly, disassembly, and repair procedures.
Interpret technical manuals and schematics to facilitate accurate repairs and maintenance.
Assist with the installation of new parts and systems, ensuring proper fit and function.
Conduct routine inspections to identify potential problems before they develop into major issues.
Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and diagnostics carried out for each vehicle.
Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair procedures and addressing client concerns professionally.
Perform heavy lifting when required to move parts or equipment safely within the workshop environment.
Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards.

Skills

Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand complex vehicle systems.
Proficiency in reading schematics and technical diagrams for accurate diagnostics.
Experience using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment effectively.
Knowledge of assembly processes and maintenance procedures for motor vehicles.
Ability to troubleshoot equipment repair issues efficiently.
Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude towards clients.
Physical capability for heavy lifting and working in physically demanding environments.
Organised approach to work with attention to detail in record keeping and task execution.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced workshop setting.
MOT qualifications would be desirable
